Azizi Drive: What You Need to Know
- ★Total Positions: 4,000+ Workers (Across 4 core construction trades)
- ★Interview Dates: Feb 21 – Feb 25 (Direct Azizi HR delegation in Lucknow)
- ★Deployment Speed: 3–5 Weeks (GAMCA medical + visa fully managed)
What Is Burj Azizi and Why Does It Need 4,000 Workers?
Azizi Developments is a Dubai-based developer with over 70 delivered projects across the city. The Burj Azizi is their most ambitious project to date. When complete, it will stand as the second tallest building in the UAE, behind only the Burj Khalifa.
A structure of that scale needs a very large construction workforce, and it needs them mobilised quickly. The superstructure phase is active right now, which is why the demand is concentrated in structural trades: steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, and masons. MEP fit-out is running in parallel on the lower floors already handed over.
Azizi contracted Mahad Manpower to handle Indian workforce mobilisation for this phase. Four thousand workers, sourced from North India, processed in Lucknow, and deployed to Dubai within three to five weeks of interview selection.
The Four Trades: What Is Required
Shuttering Carpenters (800 positions)
Shuttering carpenters build the formwork that shapes concrete columns, slabs, and walls before the pour. On a supertall tower, this involves jump-form and slip-form systems at significant heights. Azizi requires a minimum of two years of high-rise formwork experience. Candidates who have worked on structures above 15 floors are the strongest fit.
Steel Fixers (1,200 positions)
This is the largest single category in the drive. Steel fixers lay and tie the rebar cages that reinforce concrete. On a post-tension tower with deep-pile foundations and transfer structures, this is precision work: reading structural drawings, placing bars to specification, not just bending iron. The volume of positions reflects how active the superstructure phase currently is.
Block and Plaster Masons (1,000 positions)
Block masons lay AAC blockwork for internal walls as each floor is handed over by the structural team. Plaster masons follow behind, rendering the surfaces. With hundreds of apartment units in the tower, the masonry programme runs continuously. Experience with lightweight AAC blocks and sand-cement plaster is the profile Azizi is looking for.
MEP Technicians (1,000 positions)
Electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians working on the mechanical and electrical systems. These are the highest-paid roles in the drive, ranging from AED 1,600 to AED 2,200 per month. Azizi requires candidates who have completed at least one high-rise MEP package previously.

Lucknow Interviews: Direct Client, No Middlemen
Most Gulf recruitment in UP and Bihar runs through a chain of agents. A candidate pays a local contact, who passes them to a city agent, who sends them to Mumbai or Delhi, where they finally meet someone who is usually not the employer either. Multiple layers of middlemen, all taking fees, none of them able to give a confirmed offer.
This drive is different in structure. Azizi's own HR team is flying into Lucknow. They have the authority to assess, select, and issue conditional offer letters the same day. Walk in during the morning, leave with an offer letter in the afternoon.
All interviews are at Mahad Manpower's 5-acre trade testing facility in Lucknow. Every candidate completes a 30-minute practical assessment before reaching the Azizi interview stage. This filters out mismatched profiles before both sides waste time, and it means Azizi is only interviewing candidates who have already demonstrated the skill.
The schedule across five days:
Steel Fixers and Shuttering Carpenters: February 21 and 22 Block and Plaster Masons: February 23 and 24 MEP Technicians: February 24 and 25
Walk-ins are accepted at the gate each morning. Candidates who pre-register get a confirmed time slot and skip the queue. On a drive of this size, that is worth doing before you travel.
How to Register and What to Bring
Go to the Azizi campaign page and use the QR code to open the registration form on your phone. Fill in your name, contact number, trade, years of experience, and preferred interview date. If you have your experience certificate, upload a photo of it. It cuts document verification time considerably on the day.
You will receive a WhatsApp confirmation within two hours with your date, time, and bay assignment. Show this on your phone at the facility gates. That is all you need to enter.
On the day, arrive 15 minutes before your confirmed slot. Bring your passport, experience certificate from your previous employer, your ITI or NCVT trade certificate if you have one, two passport photographs, and your Aadhaar card. Academic degrees are not required for any of these four trades. Your practical result and work experience are what the assessment looks at.
The trade test takes about 30 minutes. If you pass, you go directly to the Azizi HR interview. If you are shortlisted in the interview, your conditional offer letter is issued before you leave the facility.
How Long Does It Take to Get to Dubai After Selection?
Selected workers are typically on site in Dubai within three to five weeks of their interview date. For a UAE deployment, that is considerably faster than most agencies. The industry average for agencies without pre-arranged block visa quotas is 45 to 90 days.
The reason Mahad's timeline is shorter: Mahad holds pre-negotiated block visa quotas through the MOHRE system. These are allocated slots, not applications waiting in a queue. GAMCA medical appointments are booked within three days of offer letter issue.
After your offer letter, the process runs roughly as follows. In the first four days, your documents are collected and verified and your GAMCA medical is booked. Days five to eight, you attend the GAMCA medical. Fit results come back in 24 to 48 hours for the majority of candidates. Between days nine and sixteen, your UAE work permit is processed through MOHRE and your entry visa is stamped. Days 17 to 19 are the Pre-Departure Orientation Training, a one-day government of India requirement for all workers heading to the Gulf. Between days 20 and 25, your eMigrate clearance is processed, your group flight is confirmed, and your travel documents are handed to you. Arrival in Dubai usually falls between day 25 and day 35. Azizi's logistics team meets the group at the airport and transports everyone directly to site accommodation.
Three weeks at the fastest. Five weeks if any document gap comes up on the candidate's side.

What the Salaries Actually Look Like
UAE salaries are tax-free. There is no income tax, no TDS, no deductions of any kind. The number on your offer letter is the number that goes into your bank account each month.
For this drive, MEP technicians earn between AED 1,600 and AED 2,200 per month. Steel fixers earn between AED 1,400 and AED 1,700. Shuttering carpenters earn between AED 1,300 and AED 1,600. Block and plaster masons earn between AED 1,200 and AED 1,500. At current exchange rates, AED 1,400 sits at roughly 32,000 rupees per month.
On top of base salary, the Azizi package includes shared accommodation provided by the company, daily transport to and from site, medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave with a return air ticket to India, and overtime paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate. Projects at this phase of construction typically run six days a week, so most workers take home more than the base figure.
A steel fixer earning AED 1,600 and sending 35,000 rupees home each month after covering personal expenses: that is not an unusual outcome on a project like this. For a family in UP or Bihar, that figure is significant.
This Drive Is Free for Workers
Recruitment fraud is a serious problem in North India's overseas employment sector. Workers are charged placement fees of one lakh, two lakh, sometimes more, for jobs that either do not exist or turn out to be completely different from what was described. Some candidates borrow money to pay these fees and arrive in the Gulf in debt.
This drive charges workers nothing. Not for registration, not for document handling, not for the medical, not for the flight. Azizi Developments pays Mahad's recruitment fees as the contracting employer. An agency being paid by the client has no legitimate reason to charge the worker, and under GOI licensing rules, they are not permitted to.
Mahad holds a current Recruiting License from the Ministry of External Affairs Protector of Emigrants and is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The Azizi engagement is a direct contract. Mahad is accountable to Azizi, not to a sub-agent chain.
If anyone contacts you claiming to represent this drive and asks for money, do not pay. Report the contact to the eMigrate helpline on +91-11-40503090. No one on this drive will ask you for a rupee. What Mahad covers at zero cost to the worker includes the GAMCA medical appointment and fee, PDOT training, eMigrate clearance, and flight coordination.
Common Questions
I am from Bihar or Jharkhand, not UP. Can I still come?
Yes. The interviews are in Lucknow and you will need to travel there, but Mahad regularly mobilises workers from Bihar, Jharkhand, MP, and Rajasthan. Register your slot before you travel so your entry time is confirmed.
I have the experience but no ITI certificate. Will that disqualify me?
No. The assessment is practical. Assessors watch you work. If you can fix rebar correctly, lay blockwork to level, or run conduit properly, you will pass the test. Certificates help speed up visa processing but they are not a mandatory condition for interview.
What happens if I do not clear the trade test?
Candidates who score above 60 percent but are not selected for this batch are added to Mahad's priority waitlist for future drives. Your assessment result stays on your file. UAE construction demand is high right now and there will be further hiring events.
My passport expires in 14 months. Is that enough?
The UAE entry requirement is six months of passport validity, but Mahad and Azizi prefer two years. If you are under 18 months of remaining validity, apply for a Tatkal renewal in parallel with your interview registration. UP Tatkal typically returns in seven to ten days.
When do selected workers actually start in Dubai?
Workers selected in the February 21 to 25 interviews are expected to be on site between late March and mid-April 2026, depending on how quickly individual documents clear.
